Keep Your Dog On A Leash
Children are playing at Oakwood park having fun enjoying the grassy area, and what to our wandering eyes do we see, dogs entering the park with no leashes attached to their collars. Dogs begin to run through the park off leash (signs are posted throughout Oakwood Park.
Please Keep Your Dog On A Leash.
Cars are pulling up and drivers are opening their car doors and letting their dogs out to run leash free throughout the park.
People are walking up and taking their leashes off their dogs (children are practicing soccer with their coaches) dogs are running off leash and owners are using chuck sticks with their dogs. No respect shown to the children playing and none to the children practicing soccer.
I can’t understand why this is allowed to go on each and every day in Oakwood Park. I repeat signs are posted throughout Oakwood Park.

Oh no! A dog is taking a poop and the owner doesn’t notice because he/she is in a deep conversation with the other off leash dog owners,gathered together. The dog poop is never picked up by the dog owner.
Oh no! There goes one of the off leash dogs in the children’s play area with the children running and playing. The dog begins to bark uncontrollably at the children playing in the play area. The off leash dog continues to bark and the owner never stops his/her conversation. never comes to retrieve his /her dog. Parents leave the play area immediately.
Keep your dogs on a leash while at Oakwood Park.
If you want your dogs off leash there is a dog park straight down Westminster Ave called the ‘Westminster dog park.’ There your dog can run free and have a good time. Please respect Oakwood Park and read the signs that are posted all over the park.
Keep Oakwood for our two legged children and adults (dogs have pooped so much in the grassy area, it is a nice breeze that wreaks of dog poop smell).because it wasn’t picked up.
